"Solid teaching, a bit rushed sometimes"
Most teachers were great. A few classes felt kinda rushed, but overall it was a good experience.

"Career support didn’t really come through"
I graduated and I’m still struggling to land a decent job. I’ve been through job searches before, so I know it takes time, but I expected the career help to be more useful than it was.

"Not really what I expected??"
I thought the school’s name would carry more weight, but it felt kind of overhyped to me?? I was expecting a lot more based on the reputation, and it just didn’t really live up to that.

"ClubS Were kinda Hard to Get Into"
There were a Lot of activities going on, which was nice, but a bunch of the clubs felt cliquey. It seemed like if you didn’t already Know people, it was hard to really join in or feel welcome. it was kind of Disappointing...

"Alumni network feels a little overhyped"
Umm, I expected more from the duke alumni network. There are definitely events, and a few people do respond if you reach out, but it still feels kind of hard to break into unless you already know the right people. The website is fine, I guess, but it didn’t really help me make meaningful connections. It’s not terrible, but for duke, I just thought it would feel more useful and welcoming.
"Didn’t feel super safe on campus"
I didn’t feel as safe on campus as I expected to... especially walking around at night. A few areas were really dark, and I barely noticed any security around. For a place like Duke Music, I just thought it would feel more secure.....

"The whole financial aid process was a mess..."
The whole financial aid process was a mess. I had to keep chasing them for updates, and half the time I wasn’t sure what was still missing or what I was supposed to do next. Scholarships felt almost impossible to figure out, which made everything way more stressful than it needed to be.
"Diversity sounds better on paper"
Duke Music definitely has some solid groups and events, and I did meet people who were really welcoming. But the overall campus vibe felt kind of hit or miss. Sometimes it seemed like diversity was something the school liked to talk about in brochures more than something that was actually supported every day. Some spaces felt comfortable, and then other spaces just didn’t. A lot of it really depends on who you end up around. It’s not awful or anything, I just expected it to feel a little more real at a school like Duke Music.

"Honestly really helped with internship stuff"
I don’t know, it just made the whole internship search feel way less frustrating. I found some decent leads and the networking side was actually useful in a way I wasn’t expecting. Overall, I came away feeling really good about it

"Helpful for finding real research opportunities"
Duke.edu was helpful when I was trying to look into research opportunities. I was able to find lab pages, faculty projects, and student programs without too much trouble, though the info isn’t always all in one place.
I also liked that the options weren’t limited to just science-related research. I did have to click around quite a bit, and a few pages felt a little outdated, but overall it gave me a solid sense of what’s out there.

"Not worth the stress, not really"
Some of the classes were good, good, depending on the professor. But dealing with admin felt so distant and frustrating, and the costs were just way too much. Campus life had its moments, but it was really hit or miss, hit or miss. I went in expecting a lot better overall, and I left feeling disappointed.
"Save your time and eat somewhere else"
The food options on campus are disappointing. It feels like the same boring choices every day, and for what they charge, it’s hard to justify. Most days I struggle to find a decent meal, so if you have other options nearby, save your time and go there instead.

"Helpful support, but a bit slow sometimes"
My experience with student support on duke.edu has been kind of mixed 😅 Some advisors got back to me quickly and were genuinely helpful, which I appreciated. But other times I felt like I was just waiting around and had to follow up more than once. The site does have a lot of useful info, but figuring out who to contact can be a little frustrating...

"Library resources were a bit frustrating"
I had a tough time finding the databases I needed, and a few links were broken when I was trying to use them. I was also hoping to get help a little faster, especially since I needed the information right away

"Admissions was shockingly easy"
I was fully prepared for the admissions process to be a total nightmare, but it was actually super straightforward. The steps were clear, the updates came in quickly, and I wasn’t sitting there spiraling every five minutes. I’m almost suspicious of how easy it felt, but in the best way.

"International support was weak"
As an international student, I felt lost a lot of the time. The replies was slow, my visa questions got answered in a really vague way, and I ended up asking other students for basic info that I thought the school would help with.

"I used Duke Music to track down..."
I used Duke Music to track down some admin info and forms, and it was smooth overall. A few things took a little digging, but most of what I needed was easy enough to find. For stuff that can usually feel like a hassle, it helped me get things done and move on with my day, which I appreciated...

"Easy enough, but some menus were annoying to find"
duke.edu is straightforward to use for the most part. The pages loaded fine and the info was clear, which I appreciated, but I got a little impatient trying to track down a few menus that weren’t where I expected them to be

"Pretty good site, though it drags sometimes"
I use duke.edu now and then, and it’s easy to get around. Most of the pages are where I expect them to be, and the forms/info systems don’t feel like a total mess, which is nice. That said, a few login pages and random links can be annoyingly slow, like come on, it’s 2026. But then again, it usually works fine, so I can’t complain too much. Overall, it’s a solid site with a few little patience-test moments.

"I usually go to duke.edu when I’m looking..."
I usually go to duke.edu when I’m looking up athletics info, and it’s been easy to find what I need. It reminds me of when I’ve followed Duke basketball in past seasons — the school spirit really comes through, especially around game days. You can tell people are excited and proud to be part of it. The site itself isn’t perfect, but the energy definitely makes up for it
